What you can expect to occur
Our goal in defending you
is to have the charges against you dismissed, or at the minimum reduced,
and your drivers license returned. We will begin your defense
immediately by obtaining ALL records of the case. We will request ALL
audio and video recordings of your arrest from the Police Department.
We will investigate the Police Officer involved. We will begin
preparing your case for trial. We will investigate the location of your
arrest. Our investigation of your arrest is the best and most thorough
available.
What you can expect:
When you contact our office, whether it be by
phone call, by email, or by submitting the FREE Evaluation, you will be
treated with respect and consideration. We value you as our
client.
During your initial interview:
We will discuss the facts of your case and what
they can mean to you. You will be able to ask the questions YOU
want answered. You will be in a position to inform us of what you
feel is important. And, you will be asked several questions about
your arrest, so that we can become inform to the circumstances involved
in your arrest. We ask that you bring any and all paperwork with
you to this first appointment. It takes our trained eye to see any
holes in the State's case. This initial interview will last about
one hour and is entirely free to you. Remember ..., just because
you were arrested does not mean you are convicted of Oklahoma DUI.
Once the client retains us,
we immediately start all the processes to obtain any video of you at the
time of arrest OR booking, any police reports or police notes, and take
the proper action to stop the DPS from revoking your driver's license!
We then start the formulation of the defense of your case and putting
the Government to the task of showing that they can PROVE what they
allege!
Your first court appearance:
This date is set by the Oklahoma Court where
your case is filed. This may be an Oklahoma Municipal Court or, an
Oklahoma County District Court. Depending on what court is
involved you may be required to attend this arraignment, or initial
appearance. We will advise you during our first appointment if it
will be necessary for you to be present.
There
are almost always additional appearances that will be required by either
office OR you. Any time that you are required to be in Court, we will
advise you AND will ALWAYS be with you in that court appearance! You
will never have to make a court appearance by yourself once our office
is retained to represent you!
Your case at the Oklahoma Department of
Public Safety:
If we are hired to
handle your case, we will file all necessary requests for you at the
Oklahoma Department of Public Safety to STOP this agency from
revoking your license. We will request a temporary license for you
to use until it is determined if your license will be suspended. Of
course, we will FIGHT them with every possible legal attack to avoid
this revocation, and we have had significant success in doing that
for our clients. It is hoped that we will win the hearing at the
DPS, and your license will NOT be suspended. If after the hearing
at the Oklahoma Department of Public Safety it is determined that
your license will be suspended, we will request that a District
Court Judge hear your driver's license case. It is here that we
will request a "Work Permit", if you would otherwise qualify.
